Photo to DVD/CD

Are Film Cameras Dead? Just like everything else from the old analog world, film based cameras are going the way of the Dodo bird. Digital cameras first arrived in the early 90's and Digital SLR (a 35mm format) cameras arrived in the past few years, making the transition to a digital world all but complete.
Why do I Need to Transfer My Negatives or Prints? Negatives and prints like video and audio tapes have a limited lifespan. Negatives and slides will generally last from 10 to 25 years while prints do enjoy a fairly robust lifespan. The benefit of digitizing older prints comes from today's newest software that allows for improvements such as restoration, colourization, colour and contrast correction, imperfection repair, or simple red eye removal. Compact Disc (CD) and Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) media offer long term stable storage of your heirlooms while allowing you to produce an unlimited number of photos of each original from the comfort of your desk chair. The digital medium will also allow you to take advantage of new capabilities for printing your pictures as they are developed in the future.
